Graduated with high honors from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Psychology. He is an honors graduate of Santa Clara University School of Law where he was a member of the Law Review and Moot Court Board. While in law school, Mr. Janke worked for the Northern California Public Interest Research Group (NorCal PIRG) and Santa Clara County Community Legal Services.
Mr. Janke was a visiting instructor of business law at the American College of Switzerland. Upon returning, he worked for a defense litigation firm, most notably as co-appellate counsel in Aetna Casualty & Surety Co. v. Jeppesen, 642 F.2d 339 (1981), a case arising from an airliner crash in Las Vegas.
Mr. Janke operated a litigation practice in downtown San Jose for 17 years. His cases included construction, employment discrimination, personal injury, family law, and consumer fraud.
